Security Solution for IoT Device 2016
The goal of this project was to develop a new security solution to an IoT device. We identified multiple ways how our given target platform (Thingsee One) could be attacked. Based on these we conceptualized multiple security solutions that could be implemented.
Recognized possible aspects of improvement for IoT security included improved network messaging security to the cloud and improving the Operating System (NuttX in Thingsee) to be more secure with known and also some experimental security solutions (diversication). New experimental security solution was also theorized, which could further benet IoT security. The project also concretely benefited IoT security by creating an example integration of message transport security and testing the feasibility of diversication on a real-time operating system.
